LCD (Liquid Crystal Display) - liquid crystal pushed in the space between two glass plates and creates an image by varying the amount electrical charge applied to these crystals. Plasma - use tiny gas plasma cells charged by electrical voltages to create the picture. Both have their advantages and disadvantages. I suggest you read through this article which will explain these advantages and disadvantages in depth. http://www.cnet.com.au/tvs/0,239035250,240036500,00.htm

basically the difference is in the way of construction of the monitor....upto 17" lcd is betta in terms of efficency and quality...above its plasma which is always better

LCD screen has a better quality especially if you use Sony Bravia Technology! Plasma screen has this odd line from up till down. Unlike LCD screen, plasma are short in live and look unreal! Are you using LCD screen now?
