Friends these days we see lots and lots of it, that is one religion compared to another thus provoking one community over the other, giving rise to ethical conflicts and brusing feeling. So is it right to comapre one religion with another simply to propagate yours or demean others

Hi There is no harm in making comparison and discussions, debate should be avoided as it increases tension as both sides take strong position and instead of winning one another's heart try to win by anymeans. That is not fair. Only through comparison we could get the best of the things. We have come to this world for once only, why should we not search for the best. With reason , rationality, truth we should make the comparitive study. Thanks I am an Ahmadi - a peaceful an loving faith in Islam ,working for unity of all religions by peaceful means.

nice to know about your thoughts and about your work, you certainly is doing a good work. I just think that religion are so much associated with faith and passion that just a slight comparison raises the hackels, so why religious teachers, politicians do this again and again. Quest for bringing the best I think is hardly in their agenda

I wrote a response which has not been exhibited due to some computer/technical error.I write it again. Religion is one of life's important property. For even lifes very small things , say we want to purchase a shirt, so we go to the market and sometimes we see many shops and many good pieces of shirts and we select it to purchase it by spending time and money. But we don't mind ,we have purchase something of value, which may only last a year or so. Religion is something which is often for whole life, so we should pay proper attention that we have the best of it, after proper and unbiased research, which only we are supposed to do, as nobody else can do it for us. Thanks I am an Ahmadi - a peaceful faith in Islam

I am all for a healthy debate on issue of religion. I think it enhances our understanding about other faiths. We all grow up knowing our religion as taught to us by our parents, we never get to choose what do we believe in as we get moulded by birth in to specific sect or belief for us that remains supreme and true. I feel by understanding other religions can we be true in our belief truly. Its like when you know whats bad you appreciate good more- a bad example perhaps, No way I mean that other religion can be bad but you have to taste everything before you can appreciate what you have.

Hi I quite agree with you, that by comparision through sicere discussion one makes one's faith on truth even more stroger.A blind faith is no faith. We must have faith on the basis of our own reseach and prayers, a seeing faith or research oriented faith. That would be more liked by GodAllah. Thanks I am an Ahmadi - a faith in Islam, working for unity of all the religions.

There is no harm in comparing the teachings and scriptures of the world's faith and a lot of Good may come of it. Certainly the idea that God speaks just to one group inevitably goes out the window when once we study the history of other faiths.

Hi You are very right that those who think that God spoke only just to one group has to go out of the window. If God cares for everybody and provides say for food to everybody, even to those who do not believe Him, certainly He has sent revelations to every nation, if they could presereve it or not is another thing. That could be decided on merit with intelligence.
