The Misery of Working Students

i really pity and yet admire those students who have to work and at the same time study. doing these two things is hard. the demands are high for both work and school. work and school can be both very exhausting. Lucky are those who have families who can well provide for their education and don't have to work in order to feed themselves, buy their clothes, pay the tuition, provide for school materials, and stuff like that. but there are those who are not so well blessed enough financially that they have to work and study at the same time.

How about the working mothers who juggle school, work, and raising a family. When I returned to college it was very hard and sometimes frustrating. I remember a student that was in my accounting class who asked the question about how it was done. He didn't have a job, his only requirements were to study and attend his classes. He was failing. When you have to do a multitude of tasks you learn to prioritize. You also gain a greater appreciation for the simple things in life and enjoy the moments that you spend with your family.

This is really very tedious job indeed.Working mothers really are a site of pity because there are certain needs that they cannot even forgo like those of kids and jobs are things they have to compulsory do this.It requires time management and also when u know that you have limited time you tend to do your part perfectly in whatever time time you get.

Yes its very tough to manage both studies and job aprt time or full time at a time. ne cannot concentrate on both and it effects both but its complusion for some students by considering thier financial situation. Usually thsi happens with students studying in usa,uk,australia etc... they have to work and study. But the eduction system is good. They have only a 5 day a week so the other 2 days can be used to work and earn money instead spending ina beach or going to discotheque. The university people also offer some on campus jobs which are allowed to do in working hours only also the university offers fee waivers for bright students. This may also help them.... I didnt worked and studied at a time till now and hope i willnot face such horrible situation./.....

I also pity them. I had my school paid for because I got a tennis scholarship and it paid for everything from A-Z. I mean it paid for tuition, books, apartment/living, food, books and I even typically had money left over for extra spending, I loved playing tennis and getting an education for it. I highly recommend this track to anyone who can do it. It really is a great alternative to working through college.

I'm sure this is very stressful for students! I work at a college and I've seen many stressed out students, especially around finals and mid-terms. Most of them that work here take off when they need to study for big tests.

it sure is stressful. i've had classmates before who were really having hard time both in keeping up with school requirements and the demands of their jobs. It sure is a tough world for them. how i hope professors wouldn't be so hard on them.

I really can't get how do they find the time.. I berly find time to breath!! But I guess those people just know how to orgenize the time in the best way. So I think we should really admire them.

Misery is an accurate description. I was 23, a new dad, attending college full time, and working the evening shift to cover bill and expenses. It was a very stressful time for me. The benefit was that I learned to effectively multi-task. I use this acquired skill everyday. It was very difficult, but I am better of for it. Staying super busy gives me a lot of satisfaction in my life.

It is very stressful for a student to both take classes as well as work. That is a lot of work to handle and can be very stressful and tiring. A student should have a chance to relax and have some fun instead of working and studying all the time. I used to work and go to school and always felt exhausted but I needed the money.

my family can afford me everything i want.but still i don't find enough satisfaction in spending it as it is my father's money.i always admire my father for he never got even a penny from his father and started his life and is leading a recognised life.i want to be like him.students might not be exhausted as this is the age they enjoy everything they do.

i admire these students too. but i don't think it's that hard for them. you see, when you work and at the same time study, you learn how to manage your time efficiently . your brain also have the tendency to become sharper andb your body always on the go. as a result, these people manage to joggle work, studies and pleasure and even end up coming to class more prepared than the full time students who had been spending hours and hours sleeping at home!

it really is difficult. you just don't know how much we wished, we had an ample amount of time to rest. there were times when we're so confused to study because tuition fees we're coming, there's no enough food in the table, we couldn't take vitamins because no enough money for everything. we might be coping up but we wished we had time to participate in school activities and events but we had to be in the work to work. so you see, it was very difficult for us.

Yeah, it's really hard. Try adding a family to support as well because you didn't get it together before you were 30! But, there is an end in sight!

Yeah its really tough to mange both the things at the same time, when it is required to have efficiency in both the fields. I used to take tuitions when I was in college and I used to get so less time for my studies but I had to do it for atleast one year as our family financial condition was not that strong at that time.

I don't consider it a misery because I myself was a working student. I consider it as a challenge which makes a person motivated to excell in both fields. It is not wrong to be born poor but it is wrong if you will die poor. There are many means to continue making life better. Means that I know, it doesn't harm yor fellowmen. I am proud to say that I was a working student because, I learned how to manage time wisely, I became wise in terms of decisions and money.

Working students can be two categories. One who are furthering their qualification and the other who are working because of family pressure. The first category can manage even if they do not score well in the exams as they are already in a job and earning well. The second category are the persons who have to toil since their life depends on how well they score in the exams and therefore they have to work hard both in the workplace to retain the job and also in their studies to score good marks. It should be a pity to see that such people are still available in many countries.

I've worked and gone to school full time all through out college. I also had a part time job in high school. Not really because I needed to, my parents would have provided for me. But I learned at an early age, I'm a workaholic.... I couldn't imagine doing it any other way.

i am a working student and it is very streesful for us cos we have to manage the studies and work together.if we go back in studies the teachers try to nail us and if we dont go for work for even 1 day we get threats of firing.it is a real bad scenario but well we have to do it to support ourselves.
