with too much processed foods, variety of softdrinks, beverages, i think all of these contributed to the growing size of plus size people. i've seen many obese adults and children too. health awareness and discipline should be taught to children as young as 3 or 4 years old. . most obese people are already big when they were kids and they just did not happen to get back to shape. Some parents would just let their children, eat and eat, reasoning out that they are kids and when they get older, they will get concious and start to eat wisely. but that doesnt seem to be the case all the time. that's why i do believe, health consciousness, body fitness should be instilled in the minds of children as young as they are.

Not only does food contribute to obesity, some people eat out of habit, depression, low self esteem etc. yes ones health is very important to some whereas some just not as modivated as others to get out there and change up the eating habit or working out. As to children, yes it stems from parents to teach them. I have a friend that has a neice she is 6yrs old, about 140lbs and wear maternity shirts cause her stomach is sooo stretched. This little girl can even cook eggs, pancakes etc. They tried to put on a diet and her being a child, don't care about the importance of health, she just want to eat. The family says its hard to stop her from eating everyday...

that's what happened to a relative of mine. the child was really chubby at the age of 4. they let her eat almost everything. Now that the child is 9 years old she is the favorite topic of kiddie conversations at school regarding how big she is. Some people call her PIG and that is very hurting to the child.
