Age, what's the big deal?

I don't know it may just be me, but I don't see what the big deal is. I don't care if anyone knows how old I am. But some people get upset and or embarrassed if they have to tell their age. Some will even lie so peopple don't know how old they are. I grew up being told you never ask a lady her age. I was also told never ask an older woman her age. Why not? What's the big deal? So tell the truth, are you embarrsed to tell people how old you are? Do you lie when being asked your age? If you do help me to understand why you do this. I am 31 and I don't care who knows it.

I have never had much of problem until after I reached 45. I think after that age you are self conscious about how people will preceive you. You start feeling kinda old at this time and would rather not discuss it. your kids remind you daily how old you are and you just don't want to discuss it anymore LOL

Thanks for the reply. I didn't think of that since I am younger I don't encounter that. I hope that when I get older I am not embarassed to be my age and continue to get older.
