Business in some Texas towns are now accepting Pesos as a way to pay for good. What do you think about this?

Well it is only fair because in foreign countries that have high amounts of U.S. Traffic, they except U.S. Dollars. as long as they are still being charged the appropriate exchange rate, and honestly they are probably being charged above the exchange rate because the vendor has to make his exchange and takes the chance of the peso fluctuating.

That is true, but in many of those places the dollar is an accepted form of currency and when you pay in USD you normally get change in USD as well. I would imagine that this is not the case with the pesos.

I think that things should be kept uniform for simplicity. If it is a person-to-person exchange, then whatever form of currency those two people want to use would be fine. But if it is a business like a store, I think those with pesos should exchange them for dollars and use dollars. Otherwise, things will start getting pretty confusing.

The article did not mention what stores. What is amazing to me is that it is not just border towns, but cities further into Texas, like Dallas that are accepting pesos as well.
