writing a crime report

I have to write a five page crime report on a homicide for school, and I have no idea where to begin. Can anyone help me?

Have you got it done yet? Checking out local newspapers, international news would be a good idea, I'd personally go for the most bizarre crimes, I'd have more interest in writing it. Good luck!
