My abuse report is longer than your discussion

I told myself that I was not going to do it. But it has reached the point that I just cannot help it. For just a few seconds prior to writing this discussion, I reported abuse here on mylot, and my report was longer than the person's so-called "discussion." I realize that this issue has been worn to the bone, but it has reached the boiling point with me. I mean, I can't understand if people just don't know what they are doing (and I really have stopped giving many of them the benefit of the doubt), or if they are just dumb enough not to realize that they are not going to get away with it (at least not for very long). This tirade seems to have effected everyone here, because I know so many of you feel the same way. Why are the rest of you breaking the rules here? I mean, we have already established the fact that there is no money to be gained either way, so what is going on? And what is really sad, is that there just might be one word responses to this, because people will not have even read my rant...and they will respond anyways...I feel a headache coming on...

The really sad thing is that these losers probably won't even respond to this discussion. It's too "deep" for them. I don't give them the benefit of the doubt anymore either. If they are able to get on the Internet and sign up as a MyLot user, then they certainly must be at least intelligent enough (I use the word "intelligent" loosely here) to understand the basic rules. They are doing this out of greed, plain and simple. That and a total disrespect for rules and work ethic. All we can do is to keep reporting and rating. And rant whenever we can't take it anymore! Remember, there's power in numbers, and the MLPD is going to stick together until this place is cleaned up. Honesty will triumph!

I understand how you feel. I've had to remove MYSELF from this site so many times because of cheaters. :) If you are interested, we have a group going on yahoo to catch these guys. the link is on my profile. :) Also, I haven't been to this site as much as I'd like because I get so upset when I see the copy and pasters! grrrr

The cheaters probably do not even read the rules and the alerts that they receive. And when they a see topic like this, they ignore it I bet. The best thing to do is for all of us "normal" users here, to ban together and start reporting, and also letting everyone else know what discussions need to be reported. I did not see anywhere in the alerts or rules that said we could not publicly say which discussions were bogus. If I am wrong, someone please let me know.

Pekachu, You are absolutely correct in saying this. What will happen is Mylot will not be able to promote this site with all the plagiarizing and copyright infringement that gets copy and pasted here. If mylot doesn't act quicker, they might find legal problems when some copyrighted site finds their articles on here and decides to press the matter.

I have not seen it either, so I am not sure. However, several of the MLPD has been hinting at where bogus discussions are and there is a list that you can get a hold of from other mylotians...I haven't asked for the list yet, but eventually I just might. I am barely able to report the people that I see and know of. Good Luck cleaning our streets...

Whatever you did was absolutely fair, each and every cheater must be punished. I am reporting those one word answers, because they are lowering down quality of my own discussions. Everyone here knows that they wont be paid for abusing this system, still they are not learning from others. We have no option now. If they cant behave polite, then we have to become rude now. In a way we are started to work as a moderator for Mylot.

You go girl!!! This is like my 3rd/4th day here, and I'm already seeing many similar discussions, very short-one word answers, and I think it's pathetic. Maybe they shouldn't even allow copy/paste at all, no matter how many posts you've done. Ive said this in another post somewhere that myLot needs to get some moderators or more than the ones that they have, if any. They should have those of us that are disgusted with this do it, and maybe get extra money. Something has to be done about this, it's a real turnoff to us newbies too!

I was thinking the same thing, that I wouldn't have minded a little extra pay for the work that I am doing, but to be really honest, the more we keep cleaning this place up, that in itself will pay us back....and I don't mean just morally, but actually monetarily, because all of us that have meaningful discussions will get meaningful responses. (Whew, that was one long sentence, :) ) It truly is a real turnoff and I am still a newbie too.

I am fairly new to the site; a few days, and I can't believe all the discussions on cheaters. I agree whole heartedly that we need to get rid of them. My opinion is that these sad people don't even read the rules or FAQ's to find out what is and is not allowed. I'm still learning the ropes and even sent a question off to staff today. I would dearly love to stay a part of this site as it is the best I've seen on the net so far; I don't even visit other sites I used to as frequently once I joined you all. I hope to help out in any way I can as well to get rid of the selfish ones.

The fact that you have seen so many discussions about cheaters, is why I didn't want to also write the same discussion, but I just couldn't stop myself (and even as I write this I am shaking my head, because of how annoyed I really am by all these cheaters.) And, apparently, the people who read the rules and the FAQ are few and far between...but that was the first thing I did after I joined. This is my first time joining a community online, and I don't want to leave.

You are definitely not alone here as I have also seen a lot of cheaters, spam, copying and pasting and rude remarks on here. I too have been busy reporting abuse and giving negative ratings to people. It is getting ridiculous and am glad that you are reporting this to myLot as well. Thank you for your assistance with helping make myLot a better place and a place for the good, honest and caring members on here.

The only way to stop this is to do what you are doing, and report it, bring it to the attention of the rest of us, and we will ALL try and do our bit to stop it! I have two or three posts on the same subject, lot of my friends have posts on the same subject, and between all of us, by giving the "Idiots" a negative rating and hitting the (!) symbol slowly but surely, they ARE dissapearing. Lots of the Infamous ones from a few weeks ago have GONE If we continue to monitor the site, act as "Unpaid Policemen" we WILL succeed, and this will only be as a benefit to the rest of the www.mylot.com community!

Exactly, that is what I believe, and I wanted to encourage others to also take notice, and help stop these people.

I don't believe that many are taking the time to read the rules. They are driven by the fact that the more posts they make the more their earnings increase. That is their sole reason for being on MyLot. It is not to write quality discussions or to respond to discussions with an intelligent response. They just want to make money and that is that.

Yes, I agree with you. And, there are new people here, that don't even care to, and then they ask all sorts of meaningless questions...furthermore, they do all the things that we are discussing, because of that. I like reading many of your discussions, but I hardly get the chance to respond, because they shoot up to the hundereds...and then, there are too many discussions.

I really do understand how frustrated you are at all this. I find I spend more time reporting plagiarizers, copyright infringers, spammers, scammers, and cheaters in general. It is ridiculous. It seems like we work together and get several individuals banned and there are new ones to take their place. It is obvious that many of them are using multiple account on mylot, and if you go to one cheaters profile, and go down their list of friends, they are all engaging in the same type of cheating. These individuals are driven by greed and have zero work ethics. Intelligent conversation is not what they are about. Personally, I do not think mylot will ever be able to get a handle on the problem either, because it is something that could have been solved with a stricter joining application.

Great job! I am not an official member of the force but I am one hell of a bounty hunter. I am glad to see that more and more of us good myLot members are fed-up with these cheaters. I also have given many the benifit of the doubt then I catch the cr** again, and then again till I just snapped and went postal. I hope that myLot does not get tired of the reports from mee as I am just doing my part to clean out our little town here. Thank you for putting the warning out there that you are feed-up. Thank you for the discussion and have a great day!!

Bounty Hunter, sounds very good to me. And, I realize now, that I am not the only one to have gone postal, as you say, because the cheaters were taking over and effecting everyone. With everyone's support, this place will be better and it is already becoming much better now that they added ratings and cleaned up more of the cheaters and spammers, since I first started my rant.

well i am new to this my lot thing but i can understand your feelings, u r getting annoyed because of the losers who are here just to earn money and for that purpose they don't hesitate to go for wrong ways like copy pasting and one word answers. this is really ridiculous. I appreciate you are spending your valuable time in reporting them and even i won't hesitate a bit in doing the same.

Thanks, and thanks for deciding that you will help us, because you will notice early on, what I am talking about, when you start becoming more familiar with mylot. I am still new here myself, but it didn't take me long to realize that there was a lot of insincere people here. MyLot has now become a hobby of mine, to do in my free time, and we are supposed to enjoy our hobbies. But that becomes quite difficult with the people here that don't care and want to ruin it for others.

Oh,really sorry to hear about that! I don't know how many spammers are there in mylot. But I do have come across severl of them. They copied others's responses as their own to post under my discussion. At that time there was not the block to copy something for those whose points are less than 500. I think that rule does work now, so the spammer begin to post only one or two words to cheat the system. I think all of us should report them when find them to post spams. And also mylot need some more severe rules to punish those spammers. Just calm down, take it easy!I think they would become less and less in the future as more and more friends begin to report spams! Good luck to you!
