i have a lap top and want to record tapes from my old stereo that has rc pugs

i would like to record from my stereo to my computer all my old records and tapes rc jacks on stereo so is there a box that can convert analog to dig and input it to computer via usb 2 or firewire with good sound have tryed some of the free downloads but only hook up to computer mic

I posted a discussion about this, you can check my profile or do a search. I think there might have been some helpful answers there.
One thing I've seen is a device that you connect to the turntable and it converts the signal into digital and has a USB plug to go into your PC. Another device includes a turntable, etc. and connects to your PC, but it's more expensive because it does more.
