Do you think birth control is forbidden by God? Is it?

What do you think? I had a discussion with a sister-in-law today, about this topic. I would Love to hear what your opinion is. I believe that if you trust God, He will give you wisdom on what is right for you. For is right for me may not be right for you. But I don't think a medication will keep me from reaching my ultimate goal which is to please God.

I think God would rather people use birth control then have children they can't afford or don't want. I don't think God could possibly be happy with the babies dumped in trash cans or flushed down the toilet or starving because their parents can't scrape the cash together to feed them.
