my personal favorite is my ryder waite or unicorn cards, but i like the person to choose and it also depends on the situation. If the person feels more connected to a certain pack then the reading tends to be more understanding to them.
Even when I do my own cards I do use different decks as I know my cards and which one better reflect different questions.
same with the spread, I feel certain spreads are for certain situations do you agree?

My personal favourite is the Universal Waite deck.
It's the first tarot deck I ever had, and still the one I feel most comfortable with.
I've come across many decks over the years, all of which have been beautiful. But the Universal Waite still remains my firm favourite.

I've used different decks over the years. My current favorite for public readings is the Cosmic Tarot. I never get tired of the beautiful art. I find out I wear out my public deck so I have to replace it every now and again. Other decks I keep for personal use and many look as good as the day I bought them.

I actually like to let whomever I'm reading for pick for themselves...for me personally though I like my Shapeshifter deck the most...but I've been eyeing up some other decks..one in particular was the Stick Figure deck but its very rare and was going for over $1000 LOL so um yea I wont be getting that any time soon ;-)

the best deck i have found that works for me is the one that came with the book called the instant tarot reader, its small like a deck of cards and the readings from them have always been right on now the bad news .... during all my packing while we are remodeling i lost a few cards :( so i guess its off to find another deck

Cards of marseilles. Simple designs and true meanings. I find i respond very well to this set and to aquatic tarot. :)

like you, I use more than one deck and just got a new deck that is compact in size...the cards are fairly square in shape and man...talk about stiff cards. It's gonna take me awhile to get these worn in where they can be shuffled fairly easy. For now, the cards are trying to stick together and are very difficult to shuffle but as with all things, time will soften the rough edges they contain and it won't be like trying to shuffle bricks lol.
