The album released in the UK on October 25th, 1969 then released in the US November 10th, 1969 is their best featuring David Gilmour. Much instrumentalization but the ethereal kind that lifts you out of something and sends you reeling-- The album is titled Ummagumma , anyone else appreciate (or not) the depths of the talents of the bands musical prowess here as individuals collectively coming together in perfect harmony ?

Best album is Dark Side of The moon or The Wall, more experimental is the first one, but great album to listen with your headphones to!

If I had to make a list, it would be Dark Side of the Moon The Wall (But I liked the movie more than the CD) Atom Heart Mother Animals

Although, the song "Another Brick in the Wall" is more popular, DST will be rated as the all time album by true pink floyd psychedelic music lovers. I personally consider Us and Them, Brain Damage and Speak to me as the best ones in this album.

I also think Dark Side of the Moon is the best. That might be because it was one of the first albums I every bought. I also really like Animals.

If you have to buy one, buy "Echoes" because its a greatest hits CD with pretty much everything you need. As for real albums, DSOTM is teh best.

Well, it is difficoult to say, I like a lot "Dark side of the moon" but I like a lot too: "The Wall", "Wish you were Here" and "Atom heart mather". I can't say which one is the best.

dsotm is a cool album, however i think the best is either the final cut or the wall, both have some seriously deep music!!! Some of that stuff is so mind boggling it can addict you!

I gotta go with The Wall or Atom Heart Mother. Dark side also a classic but the Wall is the one I keep coming back to over and over again.

Dark SIde of the Moon is not an album with distinct and different composition, it is more like a symphonic piece that moves through different phases. That's why it is one of the greatest albums ever. It is also a concept album. It deals with a lot of important issues of its time. It talks of greed, lust, relationships, time and a lot of other human values. The album is not something you listen to, its something you experience... It is by far the greatest album ever...
