Am I weird?

I am something of a freelance writer. I get paid for stuff on the internet that I get published. But I recently got my first article printed in a local paper that I didn't get paid for. It was for local writers to get in print. I got way more excited over the free one I could carry around and show people, than I ever did over online ones that I got paid for. I guess it's an ego thing. Some of my relatives saw it without me having to show them and called me about it.

I don't think you are weird at all -- one of the first articles I wrote was for my college newspaper -- It was the first time I had gotten paid for my words and my thoughts, and it meant the world to me. If you want to check it out -- here's a link to an article about getting published that you may want to check out. http://www.associatedcontent.com/article/108985/what_readers_want_getting_past_the.html Best of luck on your writing!

Yes search Randy Inman or go to the sports section. I usually have some on the front page of the sports area.

I would not call you weird. You are proud of your work, and want to show it, not tell about it. That is why you were happier with the free one you could carry.
