at what age do you need to be to drink in Costa Rica? And how old do you have to be to gamble?

drinking age is 18 according to www.infocostarica.com/general/fun.html
and they do tend to check ID in the larger
cities like San Jose.
I couldn't find the legal gambling age
but my bet is that it's 18 also the same
as the age of consent.
Most of the bigger Casinos are in San Jose. Some
of the games have different rules than US casinos
so make sure you know the local rules before you play.

My husband at one time lived in Costa Rica and he says he is pretty sure that the legal gambling age is 18. I am from the USA and we live in Nicaragua. There a many things to do in Costa Rica. I have a discussion on here about Costa Rica and also one about Canopy Tours which are available in Costa Rica. Don't stick around San Jose. Get out and see the sights away from the city.
