vat(value added tax) should be abolished or not?????

i think that it the way to collect money from people and use it for various purposes which is help ful for people in many ways.

i think collecting value added tax is acceptable since the tax collected is used for different government services and projects... but i think vat should be kept in the minimum, in the philippines, we have 12% vat, that's huge... imagine eating at a restaurant then when you receive your bill, you can see 12% vat + 10% service charge, it's an automatic 22% addition to your original bill...
