Meeting Your Soul Mate

I'm sure I can't be the only single 30-something person on this site so I'm hoping others will share here. I live in a suburban resort area. Off-season the only real activity is drinking. I'm not against drinking but I don't really do much so the idea of meeting a guy at a bar just doesn't appeal to me. I joined a church in hopes of meeting some younger people but everyone there is either elderly or families. I've tried online dating and haven't had much success there either as I find it difficult to get to know someone through those sites. Usually I end up making snap judgements since I'm not dealing with them face to face. My friends are all married with kids so I can't even just grab them and go out to try to meet anyone. Where do you go these days to meet people in person other than bars? Does online dating get easier if you stick with it longer? How do you judge who to get to know?

Maybe in the off season you could continue with online dating. Yes it does get easier the longer you do it. Your confidence will build and you will end up meeting more people. I've been there and done that. You will eventully 'get over it' though. I guess that it's possible to meet your soul mate through online dating, you just need to filter through the crap until you meet 'Mr Right'. I guess it's the same with ordinary dating as well. If you don't have any luck with your online dating in the off season, I would resort to the good old fashioned way of meeting men face-to-face in the peak season. I'm sure there would be plenty of bachelors around in the peak season. You just need to be bold enough to put yourself out there!

Oh there's plenty of them, problem is that they're not local and I LOVE where I live. I don't really want to move, I have a decent job, a good place to live and all my family is here. I know I should be willing to compromise to meet my match but I just can't see me moving away.

Maybe once you meet Mr Right, you can get him to come and live where you are. That way everyone is happy. One can only hope! Good luck with your search. He's out there somewhere.

Have you ever checked out ChristianCafe.com? It's a Christian dating site. Sure you still have to be careful, but at least there is a better chance of finding someone good. My cousin just married the man she found there! (I drive through Salisbury on my way to NJ!)
