What do people think of Kate Middleton? Suitable bride for Prince William or not?

I really don't know much about her, only what I have heard on the US tv shows. I thought she was quite pretty and graceful when I saw her. It was said she is much like Prince Williams mom, Princess Diana. I loved Princess Di. As for being suitable for marriage to royalty, I think that she is probably better than most, in that she has a calming look and effect about her from what I saw.

She is quite pretty, but not as good-looking as Prince William or Princess Di. I think she would be good too - she's bright for a start, better educated and more intelligent than the existing royals. She and William have been dating monogamously for five years now, since they shared a house at univesity. They are both very young (she turned 25 this month, William will turn 25 in July). This couple is clearly very different from Charles and Di. I believe the reason the Queen is hanging on despite being over 80, is that she means to hand the crown over to her grandson and skip Charles.

Oh I hope he skips Charles. He has been the longest King-in-waiting in history. And nobody likes Camilla to be Queen of England although I think that isn't possible.

I had thought Kate was a nice girl and might be able to bring some normalacy into a family that has had its share of problems. I guess WIlliam decided otherwise, as I read over the weekend that the two had split up?

They have indeed just split up. Apparantly it turns out that William thought she was "boring" and we've had further revelations that he has a roving eye. It's very disappointing. We had all thought that William was a better man than his father - but it turns out that his steady stable image these last few years has been entirely down to Kate reining him in! The public is not going to be pleased if he turns out to be like charles.

Definately, bless her. She's had such a hard time of it with the press chasing her around. And she hasn't punched any of them so i think she's doing fairly well. I like her, she doesn't seem too pompus and shops in topshop.

I think she's Ok too. But I don't think she's having nearly as hard a time as poor Princess Di did with the press.

I think she would make a great match for Prince William. She is no Diana, but I think she would be better able to handle the lifestyle. She seems less nervous and very calm and capable. It's time we had a grand televised royal wedding again. \\

I agree, she has quite a different character to Diana. Regarding the grand televised wedding - maybe not. Sentiment in britain is against the sort of huge expenditure we saw in the 80's for these things. Particularly if we have to pay for Charles' coronation - enough people dislike him so that a big cost would prompt the republicans to say Enough!

I really don't much about her other than her attachment to Prince William. You are right in saying she definitely doesn't capture as much media as Princess Diana did.

Princess Di was unique. I think it will be decades before we someone else like her capture the media in the same way.

I think in this day and age he should be able to choose whomever he wants. I do find it interesting that she has such a solidly common background, though. I guess he has learned from the mistakes of some of his elders.

I don't really know. I saw her on the news last night and they were saying she is getting way more attention then she bargained for. They were comparing that part of it with that of Princess Diana. When all of a sudden you are thrust into the limelight and you aren't use to it. But as far as Kate as a person I haven't really heard too much about her background.

She's getting attentionn - but WAY less than Princess Diana did when she was dating Charles, where she was literally 24/7

Kate Middleton is not suited to become a royal bride much more a future Queen of the United Kingdom. She has no aristocratic background and no magic to uphold the myth of the British monarchy. Though other European royal houses already allowed commoners to join their royal courts, British throne is different from them. The survival of the british monarchy unto the present generation partly attributed to the magical image of the Queen Consort, Middleton has no special magic to the public. Her image is totally inconceivable for a future Queen, she partied aimlessly, drink in public and has no compassion to the people. Prince William must start to look for a wife not just for himself but for his future role, he must choose from their class, there are children of British peerage and european royalty who are close to him, maybe it's now time to consider them for that special role in his life. Princess Theodora of Greece and Denmark is my primary choice for him. He is a perfect future Queen Consort that can help bring back the luster of the British throne lost when Diana and Charles divorced. Lady Edwina Grosvenor is another favorite choice.

What do you think about Kate Middleton? For this question I have answered many times since the world know she will marry prince William. In my eyes she's beautiful and fashionable. Last but not least she must be very clever to catch the handsome young prince. God bless her. Like her always. Don't want to compare her with her mother in law.
