Christians!

Why am I seeing so many posts calling Christians names? I HATE it. I hate to see any religion, race, denomination, or anyone from any walk of life being tarnished with the same brush, just because of a select minority. I'm asking people to THINK before they post things like "Christians are sad", "Christians are a$$holes". It's gross generalisation. I am a Christian. And I believe in treating other people as I would like to be treated. That's it. Full stop. I don't preach. I don't post on topics that ask questions about different religions. And I'm sure there are many more Christians like me posting on myLot. We probably don't even give our religion a second thought, other than try to live a good life and treat everyone with respect. So please stop criticising us and, instead, ignore those who portray a less favourable image of us.

peace - sharing in this website all our different thoughts and sometimes emotions we should be able to get along especially since we are not in the same actual room
Perhaps we could use the power of the negative sign when we see such hate against any religion or belief!? With all the differences in this world we do not need people to cause divides. I can appreciate a whole lot of beliefs and maybe even learn from any one of them. Let us hope we can become a civil site where all is welcome!!

Do you know gabs, I didn't even bother replying to the discussion. I knew that if I did that I would probably lose my temper. If I find some of those links again I will let you know. It's a pity that we can't set up friends in such a way that we can group mail them. It would be so handy.

Leave them alone. They are myopic in their thought. I think some people here are sponsored to create religion confussion and thereby start what I call "internet terrorism". But I bet you, they can never have thier way here because we all know whom we beleive. He is ever for us every where

Yes I have seen this a lot as well BittyBiddy, it is dreadful, I am a christian as well and it is really makes me sick to read what I have read that they put in their discussions, I am not against their religion but I do not agree they should be allowed to post such things, and in the future I will just be ignoring these people and not responding to their discussions.

I have to say I don't agree with people bashing others relegion, and I am sorry that you feel yours is being tarnished I feel that relegion is up to each individual as to what there relegion is.I beleive in GOD and I read the bible and do alot of research and for those that are saying bad things about it should take into concideration that they are going to hurt someones feelings,I know that it is hard to think about things before saying it but if you took just a few extra seconds to look over what you wrote maybe people would not be up in arms about it.I think this is something that turns into a very serious matter for a great number of people.

You knwo what I'm finding very interesting about this topic? The fact that all of a sudden Christians are baffled and shocked that this is even going on YET they dont stop to think that its been happening to other religions for centuries by Christians....All of a sudden you have other religions standing up and reacting to years of pursecution and the Christians cant figure out WHY all of a sudden ppl are being "mean" etc....It was bound to happen sooner or later though ya know..

Dont get me wrong Bitty...I agree with you.ppl should just let live end of story...and Hell I'm black and I still cant wrap my head around this whole paying ppl off for their ancestors suffering in the slave days thing..i think its a bunch of rot to be perfectly honest with you...at the same time though I understand how (when it comes to religion) easy it is after dealing with so much harrasment by fundies NOT throwing up defensive guards immediately becomes next to impossible....its not fair, I'll be the first to admit that...but its human nature unfortunately

Ravenladyj, my point is that I, personally, wasn't one of those Christians who went out and persecuted people. Just, as I know, that my Protestant friend down the road, wasn't the one that persecuted my Irish ancestors years ago. By carrying bitterness about the past into the present, there'll never be any hope for people to get along. It's not true to say that none of us don't stop to think about how people have been persecuted. I know what happened......but how do I rectify it? I can't. So, I just choose to live a good life and respect others. That's all I can do. And it's what I wish everyone would do.

Nothing to be perturbed about. For one thing, young blood always tend to be hot even after they are taken out of fire. Time will heal. In fact, people getting annoyed are people who are ill-bred. Those who are properly brought up and educated in the true sense, will think twice before smearing others with invectives. I would say, let people say what they like, if one does not wish to entertain leave that topic. Others who have patience will deal with such area of thought. After all, one man's food is another man's poision.

i agree with you. i keep on wondering why there are so many attacks on Christians mostly by the minorities. is it because we don't talk much about religions and that we seemed cool about it? or is it because of envy we are too many that no other religion or sect can dominate us? it isn't our fault so please get us all off your sights.

I hate that. I see posts that insult Christians around all the time -- and I don't understand, for the life of me, why people choose to be so derogatary towards people from other religions. I don't preach, and I don't expect anyone to ram their religion down my throat, either. I think that's fair.

I must admit that nobody's perfect, and fallen man tend to pay attention to the negative things in other people rather than what is good in them. The tiny speck in others eyes should remind us of the big log in our own eyes. We may not like it, but the Lord already told us beforehand that we will be persecuted for His name's sake and blessed are we when they do so for our reward will be great. Of course, it is not surprising that Satan also utilizes men to slander God's children as he often does in our conscience. Grace and peace be with you, sister.

i think part of the problem for some folk is that they have been on the sharp end of some Christians bigotries. Not all Christians are loving and tolerant, some are extraordinarily intolerant and bigoted. After awhile, this becomes what those folk EXPECT of Christians and so they move into any relationship (even one as tenuous as a Bulletin Board)with Christians expecting the worst. Unfortunately sometimes they get what they expected. Frankly, I think Christians can only blame themselves for this. It is a shame but it is likely that many so-called followers of Jesus would have been among the crucifiers had they lived when he did. kiwimac

Thats definately key! I have no problem with ANY religion myself (I'm not Christian btw) what i have a problem with is fundimentalists who no matter how polite you are continue to belittle, bash, preach and just generally carry on at "non believers"...I do realize that not all Christians are like this and I also know that the thoughts of Christians can change (my mum in law is perfect example) their views without disrespecting anyone including themselves and their faith....Sadly though, there are those raving lunatic fundimentalist Christians that really do give the entire religion a seriously bad wrap....Which in all honesty is no different to nonChristians having a bad wrap like the Satanists, Wiccans, Pagans, followers of Vodou and so on.....I think what is gettign ppls goat NOW is the fact that those of us on different non Christian paths are sayingn ENOUGH and retaliating

Of course there is without a doubt! but the topic at hand is about Christians which is why I didnt remark on other fundies...I've met some whackos from all paths adn they all need a slap in the yap IMO regardless of what religion or spiritual path they are on. I dont care for extremeists of ANY kind whether its religious, racial, sexuality based etc..

Unfortunately there are raving lunatic fundamentalists in ALL religions, not just the Christian religion. I've met Jehovah's Witnesses who wouldn't take their foot out of my front door, I've been stopped and harassed by the Scientologists. I've seen posts by Muslims here that would make my skin crawl, but I don't view all muslims as being the same. I don't judge all Nigerians as being scammers just because I've gotten hundreds of scam e-mails into my mail box. I don't view the English as enemies just because of historical events. And I would hope that they don't see the Irish as terrorists, also because of historical events. If we can't put the past and our various differences aside, then there will always be war and hatred. Everyone is an individual, and it's individuals that read these posts and I think we all need to remember that.

I hate religions itself....Because if there were no religions almost 75% of the violence and crimes cud have been stopped....I am not telling this for the sake of increasing the count of my responses..I have been hating religions from my child hood where I saw a lot of times that true lovers are prevented from marriage because they belong to different religions..true friendships are brocken when they categorise themselves accoording to religions ...May be it looks boring..But I would like to live in a world where everybody is of same religion, same economic conditions, same colour and has same language..There shud be no division into countries also....Everybody should be same...If christians are a$$holes, then so are hindus, muslims and all others..we are all a$$holes....Everybody should be the same because we are all human beings....

Why should you hate religions. Violence and crimes cannot be stopped if love is not spread. This is what religions teaches.Any religion doesnot ask to hate fellow beings because he follows a different path. Just pitty the peopple who hate other religions and attack with sarcastic comments. The essence of all religions is always same .Only we misinterprete

Christians( I mean true christians)who has accepted as Jesus and reborn in Holy Spirit are really the most wonderful people in this Universe and they are God's dearest people. So the world always try to degrade them. But we the christian are not bother of the fact. We love all humans as equal and wish every goodness.

I'm sorry, but I disagree with your view that because people are Christian they're the most wonderful people in the Universe. I think it's exactly that sort of thinking that makes others feel resentful.

A reagion or relagion is not bad as a whole. Then why people says America is wrong? Muslims are terriorits? Hindus are extremests?. Japanies are rigid and roud.? English are sincere? etc. Good and bad people exist in every race every relagion, Its doesn't means that Relagion or race is good or bad as a whole. We must keep our openion about that very individual. Should not generalize it.

Beforehand I apologised before I respond to discusi you. You claimed as Christians and you were angry because of your religion has in ridiculed. But I was surprised, from the aspect of which one of your religion in ridiculed? And what religion that ridiculed your religion? Possibly you thought I then ridiculed your religion, but for me whether the meaning all this, and I I hoped you answered my question that two that. Thank you.

I don't know what "religion" the person was that ridiculed Christians. As I said before, I don't generalise, so if a post goes up ridiculing any type of religion, I look on it as being posted by an individual, and not representative of that religion's beliefs. I hope you understand what I'm trying to say here.

There are a large number of different religions, a lot descended from a common origin. What I can't understand is why there is so much enmity between Jews, Muslims and Christians when all are descended from Abraham, and believe in the same God. A god who should be benevolent, caring, and compassionate has so much evil done in His Name. Even with Muslims and Christians there are different branches (or sects) who don't get on, ie Sunny & Sheite Muslums in certain countries, and the same goes with protestants & Catholics (again just in certain countries). I am not sure if the Jewish faith has the same problem. Why can't we learn to love our neighbours with different religions?

I very much agree with you . It doesn't matter who we are are where we come from . Inside we are all the same and no one should be labled as a certain thing because of color , race , religion etc . It is what we are as a person , how we treat others and if we show respect . I don't post topics such as this as I am totally against racism in any form . Like you said we should treat others as we would wish to be treated ourselves .

You have to feel sorry and pray for the non-believers. They don't know the love of God and that is the saddest thing. They deserve our pity, not our anger.
