Do you knit or make your own clothing?

I don't make my own anymore. I did years and years ago. I took fashion design up in college, and had to learn how to make designs and patterns. I enjoyed the designing part, but never really enjoyed the sewing part. Where I live now, in the desert, is is way to hot to have knit clothes.

I've never been very good at sewing .. my poor sewing teacher at school will testify to that ... I think one of my school reports said something like .. "more interested in sewing her fingers together than material" hahahaha ... I haven't the patience for sewing .. I did make a few clothes for my children though .. a kind of loose pyjama/play suit .. I use to lay them down on the material and cut round their bodies then just sew up the seams hahhaahah .. strangelu enough they actually looked quite good .. and were very easy to 'pull up' and 'pull over' if you see what I mean .. But I do seem to have patience for knitting, although I can't knit with very fine wool as it just takes too long to see any results .. I have knitted myself some scarves recently (that 'eyelash' type yarn, very fast, on huge needles) but my hands aren't very good these days due to arthritis

Yes I did , I used to sew, knit and crochet but I NOW have carpotunnel syndrome in both hands and cannot do any of them , I just hope it never stops me doing My Lot , I only type with 2 fingers too but I have gotten a lot quicker since I joined here lol xx

I always used to make my own clothes and knit alot. When I had my kids I made their clothes as well. It's something I really enjoyed, but I do not have the time any more. and I can't see my kids wanting to wear clothes I've made them!! I made 3 bridesmaids dresses once and stupidly left it right to the last minute. I was putting the finishing touches to the dresses 30 mins before the wedding, so I have slightly been put off from doing that again!

my mom does it. its boring. but she likes its her hobby.

The only time I ever sew is to repaitr bottons or fix holes, I don't really ahve the time to do more than that.
