I was a children's Nanny living & working in London in 1946/7. Having wheeled the pram, into Regents Park. Found that there were lots of people running across the lawn area's. Never realising that the Late Queen Mary & her entourage, were coming to-wards where I had stopped. Most impressed to see her close up, such a 'Regal Bearing'!! She had slowed enough to glance into 'My charge's Pram & nodding to me, then carried on-'Obviously'.!! My next encounter was to do with Queen Elizabeth's visit to Fremantle, arriving on her Royal Yacht 'Brittania'!! Hoping to see her close up, but it was Prince Phillip that came along & stopped to chat & pat my Dog. He did state,-"the last dog that I patted, he tried to bite me". He proceeded to pat my Cairn Terrier. Not to end with this, I was living in Canberra, when the Queen came for a visit there. I couldn't believe it, that she walked to where I was standing in the crowd & ended up speaking to me, she was very close up this time. Mentioning that it was "Really Noisy, living in Gov't House" as there were many, Golden crested Cockatoos, in the Trees around there. Very noisy Birds too.
