He's Back, He's Still Addicted, & He's Not Going To Change

Wowee, Zowee, After last season I was afraid I was going to let him go and I was freaking big time. I love him, but why? He does not have one redeemable quality! He is not handsome. He is an addict. He is ascerbic and downright mean at times. He is rude to peers and patients alike. He seems to lack the ability to give or receive love. What in the world makes him so damned attractive? And Wilson? He is just so preppy, tight and consticted! Why do I love him? I'm an old lesbian yet I am ever so drawn to these two men! Okay, now back to reality! Was it not one of the sexiest scenes ever when House gave Cutty the injection in her hip while she was bent over the desk in her tiny little panties? I am willing to bet there were a lot of men out there panting over those panties! I love the entire cast and show and am so thrilled that the entire drug/cops and robbers thing is finished. It was really getting boring~Donna

Well, I won't try to convince you that he's handsome. That's a personal preference, although I think he is. However, I do think he has redeeming qualities. He may be ascerbic and mean, but he will fight hell and high water for his patients. He cares about them, even if he's not nice to them. He's smart and funny. He can be respectful, although that respect is cloaked in disrespect. There's a lot I like about House.

Angel, you must have misinterpreted what I said, I think he is one of the most sexy men alive! I just don't know why! You are right about all of the very well-hidden underlying qualities; but it takes so much digging to get to "him" ~Donna

It's just a House thing. You can't help loving him no matter how things go. You're going to be stuck for a while.

Last night's episode was so great! Not only is that entire cop thing done but House played the most amazing charade. And I just love how Cutty owns him now! You know, it's not House's looks that draw me to him, it's his brilliant and sometimes insane mind. He's a hero but he's self centered and selfish. He figures out medical mysteries like a Sherlock Holmes yet he fights with his own inner demon of addictions and pain. It's the entire paradox that he is that just makes him so alluring and I find myself having to watch. You never know what he'll do next! You just cannnot love this series...

I agree wholeheartedly. And I also find it sexy that you can't even tell that he's not American. An actor who can really act. Now that's sexy. lol.

Aha! Brilliant! The insanity is what draws me. And, yes, I was totally shocked when I saw him on the Actor's Guild talking away in his British tongue. Oh, he's just too good! ~Donna

We were just watching that rerun also and my mom mad the comment that it seems to be getting all about Houses habit and no longer about his talent as a doctor.

Oh, you must have missed the second episode - the season opener! I think they are going to go back to normal again. I'm sure that he's still going to be an addict (but is someone in chronic pain and needing medication for it really an addict?), but with the detective out of the picture - he's going to be just Dr. House again ~Donna

I love House too! I don't know what it is, but is just so attractive. The way he acts seems to make him that way for some strange reason. It's like he's one of those untouchable type of people that you're attracted to because you want to break down his walls or something....lol I don't know. my husband thinks I'm crazy though for liking him so much!

Don't you think the producers sort of thoought the same thing when the writers pitched the idea to them? Just think about it from their perspective - it's totally ludicrous! Thank goodness the writers won that battle.~Donna

I too am glad that the story line is over. It was interesting, but beginning to drag on. At one point when he was in rehab, I actually thought "what is he going to be like off of the meds?" But OF COURSE he was taking Vicidin the whole time. He wouldn't be House otherwise. I loved it! And that he had to at least spend one night in jail, because he should have gotten something (that's the pre-law student in me talking). Overall, excellent episode.

I think some of us will always love the idea that real hero's exist, that they are out there saving the world one person at a time. I only watched 'House'for a little bit, but he represented a negative hero figure, he found a problem...fixed it...happy ending. Now, I know I didn't include key personality points but in essence I think it's that hero image that makes him so attractive. He saves people that others have given up on and left to die...SS

I love House because I see so much of myself in him. I'm a bitter, rude, brutally honest cripple myself - though not quite as mean as house tends to be - but I love him because he's a character I can really connect with. I'm so glad the whole tritter arc is over. I was getting so fed up with that. It was interesting when it first started, but it kept dragging and dragging and dragging.... I thought it went on far too long. And I agree about the scene with Cuddy getting that injection! She is a gorgeous woman.

I watched House when it first started and I catch a few episodes here and there. My hubby didn't like it and we were spending way too much time watching T.V. at night in two different rooms, and not with each other so I gave in on that one. He sacrificed a few for me too...Just a couple of reality addicts here..lol I finally got a DVR..lol I love the character House though. I have no idea what it is about him, but he is so I don't know, charismatic, is that the word? I don't know if there is a word for what he is, but I am thinking of going back to the living room for this season..lol Maybe I'll swap out the Apprentice for something..lol I can't believe they still have him popping the pills. Did I read that right? Wow his liver must be shot to hell and back... I just found your post about Charlie and thought I would check out some of your other writings, and have been pleasantly delighted. Thanks for posting interesting discussions for those of us who cannot quite come up with the eloquence to write as you have. I love it...Hopefully I will come out of my Coma soon and find something interesting to write about. I always search and there is always something that catches my eye. That's why I like it here. There are still some smart, rational, sane people in the world, and if you can find them, it's good to know who they are...

Oh dear maybe you love him due to he is different to the way of the normal man, maybe you feel sorry for him and that is why you love him, or that you think you can change the way he is, or now I think you maybe talking about a movie here.

Kathy, I certainly do love him because he is quite different from the norm - would not like to live with someone with that kind of difference, but would not want to change the character at all; but who knows, we could collaborate on a movie about "Lesbian feminist charging in on thundering horse to rescue Dr. Gregory House from himself". Naturally, I wish for him to play his own character; but now who should play my part? ~donna

I guess its the balance of his character that makes him so interesting. He is person who is rude to his colleagues and patients but is very passionate for his work. Saving lives is his thing, no matter the consequences. Even if a patient doesnt want to be resuscitated, he will still try to save him/her. He bends medical laws & practices. What I like about him is his witty and smart alec remarks. House Rocks!,=)

You are right, you can not help but love him. I hate him and love him. I really feel for Wilson though. He is always defending House and putting himself on the line. Love that guy! The one that gets under my skin is Cameron. I can't explain why!

Darn, I keep missing that show...I love House too. He's totally unpredictable and I think that's a big part of his charm....Do you remember the episode where he covered his steak with salad in the hospital cafeteria, paid for the salad and told the cashier he was on a diet? I was recently in a hospital cafeteria and the temptation to try that just for the hell of it incredible. Unfortunately I just don't have that House moxie.

I am a little confused. Are you talking about a show on TV. I must not watch it. Hi Donna, Glad to see you here. I had no idea you were here. What is this show? Is it good? What channel is it on? Is it something that I should view or not?

I love Dr. House as well. He makes you so mad but at the same time he is a very smart guy. I watched last night and couldn't believe that it was all an act. He seemed so sincere. The show would not be the same if House cleaned up his act. I can't figure out what the appeal is about this guy. I just know that I can't stop watching his show. Do you think House will hook up with Cameron? She has had a crush on him but she is uptight and House is loose and flakey. I don't see anything happening between him and Cutty they are truely friends. Wilson is a wimp but he is cute. I also think the show would suck if House actually became a humanbeing. He thinks he is a god and never wrong. Wait a minute that sounds like a lot of guys I know and they are no fun at all. I look forward to next week to see what is going to happen next.

He might not be attractive physically but he sure gets you going with his antics, mean rough kind of personality. probably, im like cameron too.. hehe maybe I tend to be attracted to "damaged" people. lol
