Only the 110th US congress could elect their first ever woman Speaker?

Women are finally getting somewhere in American politics. It took so many years for a woman to get to the speaker's post, I wonder how long it will take for a woman to get to the governor's or the president's office? Also it makes me wonder, will any black person become a governor or the President of the United States. Please comment.

Yeah, it's really nice that women are finally being recognized in the politics and I hope pretty soon they'll be a woman as a president. But, I doubt they'll be a black person as a president. It'll take a long time before that happens. I don't want to sound racist or anything because I'm black and I know how that works out for us in the USA.

You know Lydia, when I visited USA for the first time I was under the impression that in US everybody is equal. I realized very soon that it is not true, some are more equal then others :) I could sense that difference with which Blacks, Hispanics, Chinese and Indians are treated. Don't get me wrong, America is a great nation where a hard working person can make it big, it is a nation which is quite different, where performance is rewarded justly. But it does not always follow every thing it preaches the rest of the world.
