Proper Grammar

Is anyone else out there irked when proper (basic) grammar (capitalization etc) is not used in posts/email/online? I'm just wondering...but I think it just *looks* better when everything is written correct. Don't get me wrong; I'm tolerant and don't mind too much about lowercases/abbreviations/etc. I'm just saying I prefer it when proper grammar is used.

I agree and disagree. On message boards and in e-mails, I try to use complete sentences and capitalization, but when I'm typing away to chat with someone, I don't bother with capitalizing everything. I don't really see the point, I guess. There's no real need and it just takes more time. LOL People like quick responses when you're chatting and will sometimes get impatient and misuse the stupid buzz or nudge. Now, those are the type of people that end up getting ignored!! I just HATE that. However, I really do hate the "abbreviations". The "how r u" type stuff. It can get really bad and it irritates me because I tend to read stuff as it is and I would really prefer NOT to have to sit and translate what people are trying to say. Same goes for poor spelling.

Another thing that really bugs me is when people type "would of" or "should of". "I should of done that..." Well, people. Think about it. Does that even make sense?? No, it sure doesn't! And why is that? Because you're not using the proper words!! It should be, "I would've done that, but it didn't seem right." See?? Would HAVE! AKA would've. Not "would of" or "should of". Would've and should've. Ugh! Sorry... just another grammar mistake that really bugs me and it's probably just me. :P

I do agree with what ever you said but as every one's mother tongue is not english so its is quiet difficult for him to speak exactly with proper grammar.

I don't get upset because I realize that there are so many here that are using english as a second language. I have a hard time with it as a first language, I'd hate to be trying to write in a somewhat unfamiliar language! I just hate the chat room short cuts that leave out the proper spelling of the words. Sometimes it is so bad it is difficult to read what they are trying to say.
