Do you take online threats seriously?

If you received online death threats, from someone you have never met before, or even hacker threats etc. Would you take this seriously or just turn the other cheek? Is there anyway that the person could actually find us and make good to their threats?

I would advise you to be careful with online threats, i have a story where a stranger was able to track down a girl even with a simple chat session, no threats whatsoever. So, i would advise you to be careful. If you like to read the story, send me an email on zakhire@hotmail.com I'll email you the story then, its too long to write here (i'm not allowed to paste yet)
