My husband and I like to play the headlight game. Of course you have to play this one at night and based on the shape of the headlight we try to guess the make of the car. When I was a kid we played lots of games like trying to find the alphabet on the signs that we passed. Anyone else got some good traveling games you like to play?

When my children were younger we played eye-spy and that made the trip go a lot faster. But there is the number plate one where you look for a numberplate that you can make a word out of.

Those are good games we use to try and find all the atates or as many as we could find on the license plates.

My husband and I have played the Alphabet Game, and we also like to play the License plate game, where you see how many states you can find. That is a fun one too, and a Great time killer so you do not always think, "Are We There Yet?"

I drive a lot, and never thought of making up any of these games. But my stepdaughter has made games with here friends with us like counting trucks, etc.

The only game, well I guess you could call this a game, my kids and I use to play, was trying to decipher the quote or the message on the passing auto's plates. Some of the abbreviation were easy to figure out, but some were really quite challenging. Oh, and we use to do something really silly, we would count how many cars like ours we would see while traveling home from school...SS

I don't know how well it would work in most countries, but my hubby and I play the liscence plate game. We try to "collect" sightings of plates from every state, and bonus from Mexico or Canada. On our recent road trip we got all of the states except North Dakota, Rhode Island, and Hawaii. I was surprised that we managed to get three Alaskas!
