teaching methods

Teaching methods for primary teachers are everywhere but I feel those who teach in professional courses like Engineering and Medicals need to know a bit of teaching methods.Who will teach them how to teach ? When I was doing my Engineering I found most of my teachers did not know how to teach.But many were excellent by thier experience.Is there any organisation like NCERT to train them ?
