U.S raids in Somalia just a publicity stunt by the Bush administration?

is the U.S war machine a tool for publicity and ratings now? beginning with ultimate futile and wasteful war , the Iraq invasion to the most recent incursion in Somalia, there is an obvious pattern of military interventions where no apparent threats to the united states exist . why do people still repeat the question about the disappearring weapons of mass destruction in Iraq ? Isn't it obvious by now it only served as a FABRICATED PRETEXT for unwarranted aggression aiming at political and strategic profit ? if the government can mobilize the american army ,and incur losses in lives and funds ,without the benefit being obvious to the public,to what extent is such behaviour compliant with a democracy that is "for the people,by the people" ?

The people don't run the country. They elect a leader to do it for them. He's out of office in 2 years, so then the people will choice a replacement. I disagree with your views on Iraqi WMD's, but regardless, the US did not have an 'incursion' into Somalia, a helicopter attacked a suspected terrorist. If you pay attention to whats going on in Somalia lately, the country is falling apart and terrorists are gaining favor.
