why do most of our indie films get more appreciated by other countries than us?
lots of indie films can get more award in international award giving bodies or in abroad than here in the philippines.
does this mean we are not ready yet for a more deeper meaning of movie making or we become so comfortable with the usuall staff in mainstream movies?

I think that indie films in thr Philippine are well made, its just that most Pinoys are more inclined to watch Hollywood movies for the reason that most of this movies are the big budget, action-packed movies or the romatic comidies.We are still caught up with the American dream,the land of milk and honey.
I feel sad because talent is never a problems with us Pinoys, we have an abundance of talented film makers but with no capital,it tends to get wasted.
ALso ,some are afraid to watch indie films, they think its just for intellects and that they wont enjoy it. We have to educate and promote indie films in our own country,its the hope of our dying movie industry.

i definitely agree with you.. i think money gives a big difference in both sides. but if they just see an indie film they will realized what does indie films has to offer to save this dying industry.
