after a, well i guess you'd call it a near death experience, freeclimbing found myself with nowhere to go but back down. anyone who has done this will vouch for the difficulty of a climbdown. exhausted and sweaty i had to light up a fat one to stop myself from shaking. looking down at the rocks and the ocean swell beneath was truly terrifying - all flashed before me. for the next day or two -and well i suppose ever since to some extent- i really questioned ones mortality and what does happen after we take take that plunge into the abyss. is that it? does it all just go black? or is there light and life beyond?
