Breeding my dog

I have a male miniature pinscher. I had his appointment set for his neutering, and when I took him to the dog park one day, a trainer said that "he is perfect for his breed, you should breed him," and it got me into thinking...
I have always been a firm believer in spaying and neutering my animals, but would love to have a puppy with his blood in it, and also know several people who would like one of his puppies. Does anyone have any experiance in breeding dogs or dealing with breeders? How do I even find suitable "mates" for him? Any help would be extreamly useful. :)

A very good friend of mine has been a breeder for more than 30yrs. Not the same breed as yours, but it's basically all the same. The best way to breed is to own both the male & female. Then you know the temperament of both parents. If you don't want to do that, then you can offer him for stud at whatever price you want & then evaluate the females. If you find a few with the temperament that you like, then find one out of those that best fits the breed standards. To me, temperament is the most important thing in breeding because that's what makes or breaks the dog. I hope this helps.
