I just read a post about stay at home mom's and how they think it is so great to be able to spend time with their children and raise them and that they feel it would be neglectful if they worked. Well what about Dad's? I think it's just as important for father's to have all this time with their children as well. What about stay at home dad's?

I do agree that it's just as important for dad's to spend as much time w/ their kids as the mothers, they each play a different role in the childs life. I think it's great if geat if a dad wants to stay @ home and raise his kids. I don't agree that it's neglectful to your kids if your not @ home all day, not everyone is as fortunate to not have to work to support their family.

I wish more men would stay at home and look after the kids. There's no real reason to have some outdated gender divide when it comes to looking after kids. Let mom work and let dad stay home and take care of things. I know there's one stay at home dad here on Mylot - real nice guy, I've chatted with him some here - and I hope there's more.
I know my opinion is not a popular one, but I don't think there's anything great or special about raising kids. Raising them *right* is a different story. It isn't some sacred practice that only a woman who's given birth can do. Fathers are just as capable of taking care of kids and a household as a woman is.
