With the cost of fuel elevating, many people are looking to find ways to maximize their fuel efficiency. This can be done in a variety of ways. Many people just do not realize that by adjusting the habits that they have when they use an automobile, it could save them hundreds of dollars each year. This article will contain ways that you can maximize your fuel efficiency. One of the first ways that you can maximize your fuel efficiency is to shop around for the lowest fuel prices. This may seem like a simple step; however, many people disregard this and just pull in to any gas station that they come across. I have seen gas stations work in a variety of ways. I, personally, live in a small town. I have found that gas prices within the city limit are lower because of the competition. Gas prices outside of the city, throughout the county, are higher because of lack of competition. It may be best to observe the prices in your area and determine where it is better to acquire your fuel. When you are driving through an area with a lot of possible stop and go traffic, you should try to travel at a steady pace. This will help to maximize your fuel efficiency. If you use cruise control, you will remain at a steady pace and this will assist in maximizing fuel efficiency as well. Just remember accelerating quickly and braking abruptly can end up costing you a fortune when it comes to fuel and upkeep on your vehicle. If you are looking for ways to maximize your fuel efficiency, you should make sure that you maintain your vehicle. Change the oil and other fluids on a regular basis. You should get tune-ups as deemed appropriate and check your tires on a regular basis to maximize your fuel efficiency. It is important to keep the weight low in your vehicle. You should not place unnecessary items in your trunk or the cab of your vehicle. If your vehicle contains unnecessary weight, it will result in using more fuel. If you want to maximize your fuel efficiency, you should only carry things that you need in your vehicle and store the other items in a storage shed, or your home. Vehicles normally do not take as long to warm up as most people think. In fact, the average vehicle takes less than a minute to warm up. If you allow it to warm up for a longer amount of time, you will waste fuel. If you want to maximize your fuel efficiency, you should only allow your vehicle to warm up for about 30 seconds. If you want to maximize your fuel efficiency, you should purchase fuel during the coolest times of the day. If the climate is warm or hot, fuel loses density and you will have to pay a lot more for the fuel you acquire at these times of the day. However, if you purchase fuel at a cool time of the day, you will pay less If you use the tips that are contained in this article, you are sure to maximize your fuel efficiency and save hundreds of dollars each year in fueling your vehicle. There are numerous other tips out there. You can do a simple Google search to find other gas tips that you can use to maximize your fuel efficiency.

There are also fuel additives available that will help clean out your fuel system. I have had a good response using Lucas Fuel Injector Cleaner and a product called EcoEnergizer. I have been using the EcoEnergizer since August, 2006. I have been using the Lucas product and the EcoEnergizer together since November, 2006. My 1991 Mercury Capri was getting 29 MPG before using either of these. I have had it up over 44 MPG when using both. Don't overlook the importance of changing your air filter periodically, too.
