When you were younger, was there a room in your home that you were afraid of?

I was scared to go into the attic of my parents house when I was younger because one time I went in there to get something, I almost fell through the ceiling of the garage. I was hanging on and fortunately my dad was there to save me. It was a scary feeling as it would have hurt to hit the garage floor from that height. Has anyone else experienced something like this or were you afraid to go into any of the rooms at your home?

Please don't think me crazy when I say this...but I was scared of my bedroom!!! You don't have to believe me when I tell you this, but i swear it is true. After being taken away from my mother, I started seeing a gray man standing about 5 feet or so from the foot of my bed. He was not a real person like you or I. He was a shadow of a person. And he would just stand there looking at me. I couldn't see facial features...but I knew he was looking at me! And from time to time throughout my life until until I was 14 years old...he could come back. Each new episode coming closer to my bed until finally he was standing right beside me. So, after so long, I found the courage to touch him! A few months after that, I found out that I was pregnant and strange things started happening. But after getting married and moving...it all stopped! I had never seen him again! But up until then, I was afraid of my bedroom!!! (Note...I was pregnant at 14yrs, had him when I was 15 yrs, and married at 16 yrs.)

I was surprised to hear this but I am sure there might be others out there to. :-) Sometimes I would be as I would be afraid something or someone might be under my bed or hiding in the closet. Glad that he disappeared eventually.

I was always afraid of going in the basement by myself. I thought someone could break in and hide down there. Under the basement steps was spooky and scary.

The basement was pretty scary for me as well though the attic made me scared the most. You definitely never know what you could find in the basement.

I was not afraid of any rooms in our home, however, I was afraid when left alone in the house. So I would wedge myself into a corner of the room where a book case was and curl up.

It would be scary to be left home all alone as a child though my parents always left me with a babysitter when I was younger. My babysitter is now my dentist. :-) At least I know I can trust her with me. :-)

Thank goodness that never happened to me. I'm so glad your dad was near by to save you. I don't ever recall being afraid of any room in our house.

In our first home, I was scared of the basement. It was a really old home with an ancient furnace and scary little rooms, one of them a root cellar.

well in our first house my brother and i used to be afraid to go to the basement. we beleived the house was haunted. and then in our new house it's not so much that we were afraid we just weren't allowed in the fancy sitting room. we had a room where my mom didn't want anything to happen to the stuff in there so it was just to look at and not use. i find that dumb. we couldn't even walk in there cause we'd ruin the vacuum marks.
