What causes moles and how do I get rid of them?

I have lots of moles just like my grandmother and great grandmother. It seems to be hereditary. I can't stand it. There are a lot of them on the side of my face and on my neck. Some irritate me. Some will fall off, while others are made into my skin. Is this a bad health sign? Can most moles be removed? What causes moles?

depending on the size,shape and texture of the mole,it could be a sign of health problems. I am not sure what causes moles,but I do know that you can get them surgericly removed or burned off.
