Actually one of our dogs Chrisi was a stray. The lady we got our other jack russell off of found her and gave her to us, cause she couldn't tell for sure that Chrisi was pure bred or not.

I have in the past, but I never kept them. I would take them in, feed them and shelter them and try to find who they belonged to. Both times that I had a dog, I was able to find their owners, the three times that I had a cat, I had no such luck, so I found them other homes. I love animals, but I don't like a house full and since I have my own dog, I'm not interested in keeping anymore.

I had a kitten follow me home a few months ago. I fed it a few times but then my neighbor complained to the lanlord and I was told I could not feed it anymore. I felt horrible because it would sit outside and come to me ever time I would go outside. I could not bring it in becuse the baby I watch is allergic to cats. A few days laater we took him to the local animal shelter. They wanted me to pay $25.00 to leave the cat but I had no money and still am broke. I had to sign this letter to promise I would pay for it. I still haven't and they keep calling. I feel horrible about it but it was not my cat and I need to take care of my own dog. Anyway I will not feed an stray again. However I do feel for them.

I live on a farm and we end up with stray animals all of the time. Only one time was it ever a dog, but we are always getting more than our share of stray cats and kittens. I think a lot of them are drop-offs where somebody just doesn't want their pet anymore. It's almost like when they see our big red barn they think, hey, this is a good place to drop off that kitty we don't want. I just 'got' a baby kitten about a month ago where somebody dropped off a pregnant mother cat. The coyotes got all but one, and the remaining one I'm letting live in the garage. I've never really brought one home though, it seems like they always come to my home, lol.
