Do you blog or journal?

I have tried and failed several times to continue writing in a blog or journal. I always forget about it. With blogs I get discouraged when no one reads it. I'm not really sure why it is I want people to read it. I don't read other blogs. Have you successfully kept up with a blog or journal? If so, how long have you been doing it?

I have never kept a blog. (only learned what a blog was very, very recently!) I have, in the past, attempted to keep journals. Mind you, these were journals I attempted keeping with the old fashioned pen and paper (gasp!) (No,it was with a pen that used an ink well and feather...I'm not THAT old). I did try last year to keep an electronic journal as well. I have not been successful with any of the above. My zest for writing my thoughts tends to just wane over time. Journals are very beneficial as they allow one to put their feelings and thoughts down, which I know can be very therapeutic. Journaling is advised by many therapists as an adjunct in treatment for many mental health disorders. If one can keep up with it, they should go for it! Here is a great link that summarizes some of the therapeutic effects of jounaling and also has links to some other very useful sites about journaling. http://healing.about.com/cs/selfactualization/a/journaling.htm

I had a forum for me and my friends, and we kept a pretty steady journal thread going for about a month, then it just got old, and we didn't continue it. I think it's just a waste of time, personally, becasue that's what I have friends for, to converse with about things that bother me.

I love to blog, and I do a lot of it. I've had a journal at so many different sites. Some of them I can't remember the name. My longest lasting (and first ever) journal is at LiveJournal. My current favorite journal site, though, is InboxJournal since they send you the update form to your email. That way I don't forget to post. It's pretty nifty. I've kept a hand written journal since middle school (about 9 years now), but I've been keeping an online journal for almost 6 years.

I have to write. Writing is such a big emotional outlet for me, so I have to keep a journal/blog of some type. I've been journaling since my freshman year of highschool and it certainly helps me cope and work through things.

Well, i started a blog in december last year and it is still going, and it is only in it's infancy. I really dont mind if ppl don't read it. Bcoz it is more of a vent for me. Anyways, I love blogging, but one is enough for me. I dunno how ppl maintain multiple journals/blogs. I simply love blogging!

I've been doing mine for a few years now, but it comes and goes. Sometimes I will post every day and other times it's more like once a month. I do enjoy it though, and have met some really great people through blogging!

I have a blog on livejournal, but it's not a public blog, it's more of a journal to keep up with friends and family. I've been internet-stalked twice in the last ten years, so now I'm pretty hesitant about the idea of a public blog.

I have been keeping a journal since I was 8 as I get older it progresses to blogs most all of them are private its just a way for me to vent throughout the day. Its also a good way for me to write short stories I can pull past experiances and brain storm off them.

I have a few sisters and nieces who like to blog, as for myself I don't like to see what other people have to say. I guess it is better to have tried and stopped then to of never tried at all. I do find myself reading their blogs. But I prefer doing this simply because I can ask and get information back on the subject.

Hey, I can sympathize with wanting someone to read your writings! I feel the same way. I do keep an online journal at Xanga because I really enjoy it, but if no one ever looked at it I really wouldn't bother *laugh* And I do read other people's journals, as well. I just love learning about other people and hearing about their lives and thoughts and feelings. You can imagine that's why I also love being here at Mylot! It's so much fun! ^_^ How long have I been blogging... at least a couple of years, methinks! ^_^ I had my journal for awhile and didn't really use it, but once I got into it it's been really fun to keep it going! ^_^

I have problems keeping up on my journals as well, but I do blog a lot. I blog a lot on myspace. I don't know why I've kept up with it so well but I have. Maybe I like complaining! ;)
