My dad was called Big Jack and my brother Jackie when both were formally named John. These aren't unusual, but I have a nickname many family members still call me = Beebop. Why? Because when I was a child in the early 1960s Bebop music was popular and I would dance whenever it came on. What is yours or you've heard of?

My nickname when I was younger was bubbles. And my sisters was tootsie. I have two kids of my own and my daughters nick name when she was younger was piglet because she was so timid. but when she got older, about 6 she got the nickname chicken little because she is so tall and skinny, and has a "chicken butt". My son's nickname is moose. My husband, all threw school even high school, he had the nickname chicken hawk. :)

My dad was fond of giving us nicknames, and some of these I have no idea how he invented. One sister was named Lumboy (it's a fruit with an oblong shape) because she had oblong face. One brother was called One Ball because he had beautiful round eyes. He called me his Bulak (meaning flower in our dialect) because he thought of me as his little flower. I like the nickname he gave me. Makes me feel special.

I had three growing up. Muff, short for 'Muffin', and 'Punkin' which in and of themselves aren't that unusual. My weird one was "Ratsafrats". All three nicknames donned on me by my father.
Ratsafrats was my father's way of constantly cussing my cuteness out on a daily basis. Ever watch Looney Tunes? Remember Yosemite Sam?
"Ratsafrats-a-cotton-pickin...."
LOL!!

I have always been very short. During highschool I was given the nickname 'half-pint.' I have red hair and was also given the nickname 'carrothead'! Neither of these nicknames bothered me as they were done in a happy and kind way, not maliciously. Even as we practice our graduation ceremony, the principal called me to the stage using the nickname 'half-pint!'
