what exactly is the figure that appears in the brackets below your name? till now i thought that it was the number of friends you have. but now i have 1 but no friends till now. is it the amount that i have earned so far? if so i have opened my account

You can get more points when you response other discussions or the people respond discussion start for you.
here you can rating the discussion and repsonse and also you should mark some response as best repsonse .Because if you rating the discussion and responses they appear in a top daily discussion and can get more points.
