Is Tupac Shakur dead or alive?

I've heard comments about Tupac Shakur isn't dead. He is somewhere in the caribbean islands with a new identity. Someone said to me that the fact that they didn't have an open casket means that he's alive.

I have heard these kind of rumors in the movies before and I'm not totally surprised at all. It's just that some die hard fans can't accept of his passing and circulated rumors to insinuate that he's still alive.
