Overpopulation is the main problem China is facing in past years. Chinese government implement a one child policy rule to solve the crisis. It surely reduces number of births in China. However, this policy causes a lot of death's among infants. As they cannot afford the fines implemented by Chinese Government officials, they are forced to abandon there child in fear that they might be penalized by the government. "Liu Shuling, a poor farmer's wife with two children says: "After having one baby, when people tried to have a second one, if you didn't have money, they would pull down your house. If they didn't pull down your house, they would take away your timber and your horse carts." (filmakers library Asia). This policy causes imbalance to both sexes. That is why China is considered a nation of children without sibling.

I understand the problem of overpopulation. I am still not sure that there means of controlling it is right or fair though. I could not imagine living in a country where I am being told how many kids I could have. I know that a number of people there want their "only" child to be a boy. I have 3 girls does that mean I should have killed all of them & kept trying for a boy. The other solution would be to remain childess I guess. Neither of those options work for me personally.

well, this is a good step for them to control the overpopulation and concentrate more on their booming economy. They really need to do something about it, it's about responsibility I guess.

i think it is really bad to impose liek this. i can understand that only if there is force poeple will follow it. but atleast they could have acepted for 2 children. having only a single child is really bad. so i think this leads to lot of abortions ,which is also cruel.
