I peersonally rather be on the ground in a camo tent or in a deer hut. I have a fear of falling...lol What about you which do you prefer?

My husband hunts on the ground in his old blue work coveralls. His friend Scott is all for tree stands and camo. Guess who gets more deer. My husband. He has never used tent or deer blind. He has even beeen know to sit out in the open and still shoot a deer. He says its not what you wear its knowing how to be still.

People don't realize that deer are really curious. Sometimes when a deer comes by my husband will whistle just to get them to stop and then he'll flick a finger just a bit and the deer usually comes closer to see what it is. They have come near us while my husband and I were turkey hunting. I got such a kick out of watching five of them watch my husband and a jake talk to each other. My husband would call to the turkey and it would answer and the deer just kept looking from one to the other. I watched the deer for about 10 minutes and they were only a few feet from where we sat. We have also had them follow us out of the woods when we have gone squirrel hunting. We would be just talking away and hear steps behind us and there would be a deer a few feet behind us.

I don't hunt, but I think I would rather be on the ground and mobile, on equal ground with the Deer so it was an actual hunt not target practice.

I'm like you rather be on the ground. Doesn't seem to be a challege if I can see them and them not me.

I do not like hunting and never go as i could not stand the thought of killing an animal myself. The thought of shooting a deer is terrible to me but you probably think the same of killing a kangaroo. I dont know how people can look at an animal and shoot it I don't mean to go on about it but it is just one of those things i don't understand

A graceful Animal - Natures Beauty
We don't go out to shoot just to bag a deer and leave him in the field. We use him as food or give him to people that need food. I mean it's not any different than eating a hamburger. Someone had to go and kill the cow or someone killing chickens for use to buy in the stores. Have you seen how they kill and process chickens? We have deer season because if there was no season to hunt deer we would be over ran. As it is tons of them are hit by cars causing wrecks and things of that nature. I mean I go hunting and had a shot but didn't take it because wanted to watch instead of kill. I thank you for your response and understand how you feel. You are right I can't picture shooting those cute kangaroo's but am sure if you guys didn't you would be over populated. I felt the same until I moved here and see the deer laying tore apart because they tried running across the road.

In a stand definetly, You can see so much more and the der have less chance of spotting or smelling you. HIGH SKY HIGH the higher the better.
