I have a great interest in this subject. I have visited several sites in England, including Stone Henge, Avebury Circle, Wayland's Smithy, West Kennet Longbarrow and Glastonbury Tor. Has anybody else visited these sites, or any other ancient sites around the world. I would be very interested to hear your stories about these. I know there are some sites in Europe and other parts of Britain, so please share your experiences. I found Stone Henge to be a very interesting site. It's a bit of a mystery as to how the stones were brought to the site all those thousands of years ago, and an amazing place to visit. The arches each represent a month of the year, when the sun shines through the opening, at dawn on that particular month. It's just like a giant, natural calendar really and an awesome place to visit. There is a lot of power flowing through the site. Wayland's Smithy and West Kennet Longbarrow are equally awesome. They are ancient burial sites and very interesting structures, where again, huge stones have been placed atop hills and several burials took place. I'm not sure where I would like to go next, or indeed, whether I might go back to some of the sites I've already visited. I certainly would like to revisit some of them next summer, and maybe add some more to my list of sites.

Places like stone henge are amazing and so puzzling! I would really like to visit Skara Brae on the Orkney Islands the noelithic village. Pictures of it look pretty amazing.

Wow.. yes. I would like to visit Skara Brae too. I haven't seen pictures of that one, but I'm going to take a look now you mention it. I belong to a website on here, called Megalithic Portal. You might find that quite interesting. I receive a newsletter from them in my e-mail, and go to the site and read stories on sites that people have visited. They even have an area in there for sending messages to people who have similar interests. Here is the URL if you're interested in taking a look at the site: http://www.megalithic.co.uk Thank you for your interesting response. Have a great day. :-)
