Best discussions.

Looking back on my best discussions I have found that I have only nine out of over 500. I have to apologize right now to everyone that I have hardly ticked any of my discussions so far as best response. Mylot makes the suggestion that we have to wait a few days before we go back to the discussions and tick a best response box to let the members know that their responses are usefull and helpfull. That I am going to correct that during the next few days and read through your discussions and pick and tick the best responses box so that then when you go through your best responses column in the next few days your best responses should increase.

Sometimes it is difficult, you geta good reply tick it off then 3 weeks later you get a better one, what can you do? I leave mine for a little while and then try to clear them, just do a few a day , it's amazing how quickly you'll clear the backlog and if you put a comment on aswell then they'll goback to the top of the list and get some new ideas too. Good luck and have fun!

Excellent advice noted. Thanx. It will take time and I will have to make a note in leaving the ones that have not made at least 3 weeks posted time to give chance for the newbies to put in their pennies worth. I have noticed that even some as old as 6 months get more additions but there has to be some sort of time limit for the best response.

generally i mark the best answer after 7 to 10 days. i guess that petty good time for a discussion. if i see the discussion hae very low response then i wait a little bit more time. if your discussion has very low answer, then i just try to anser the people how replied me earlier. it also help you to bring that discussion up on queue, so it may get noticed by someone and they can reply on that. i feel sometimes very confused to choose the best answers, becuase sometime i get so good response from each, it become very difficult to choose best answer in that case.

I also do alot of discussion. I also do the same I do wait for a couple of days to tick my best response for sometimes if I go back to my discussion it still does not have any response and sometimes I feel sad but it's okey I keep on waiting till somebody response on my discussion.

I have to agree with you both. I have given a BR early in the discussion to someone who, at the time, I thought deserved it. But then as I check the later responses I sometimes came across one that was equal if not bettr than my original choice. It is not an easy task to comply with, especially when one of my friends also comes along with a good response meriting a BR. While it may seem that I favor my friends' list it is not absolute. I do take more interest in what they say, that's true, but before I make my final choice somewhere down the line I will pass over them when what I think is a better response has been made. It is important to choose a Best Response in all our postings but choosing for the sake of choosing should not enter into the equation. You posted the discussion so it is up to you and only you to decide whether the response has contributed on a high level (whether in agreement or not to the intent of the poster) and adds to the original posting.

Thanks Deeky for Best Response....I appreciate it. I enjoy reading and responding to your posts.....although they are few and far between as I have quite a few friends who also have posts that warrant responses.

I didn't start many discussions and those with few answers i prefer to leave for a longer while before choosing a best response. I favor my friends when many replies seems to be equally good but I wouldn't overlook someone else if they have better response. I think I will leave a discussion "unresolved" for a month at the most then i will make my choice.

A month seems to be a reasonable amount of time to leave a discussion until a best response is obtained and gives the newbies plenty of time for them to post a good comment.

I have a hard time with this as I think that there should be a way that we can rate more than one. I have gotten a couple where I felt that at least three different people deserved the tick, as of yet I have not handed it out on this discussion. I usually try and wait for a few days before handing it out but also find that if I wait to long then I forget. They should also give us some kind of reminder that we have not yet chosen a best response for such and such. I guess that I also need to go back and make sure that I have mine handed out for people.

Yes it is a slow process going back over previous discussions and finding out if you have ticked a previous discussion as there could be many pages to go through and it is very time consuming. Maybe a marker at the beginning should help.

I have a lot of discussions myself that I have not picked a Best Discussion for as well. I know that when you do this, if the person is still active, you end up earning Extra $$ from these, but sometimes it takes a while, and no some days I am limited to how much I can do on here as well. But I am slowly trying to catch up on some of mine as well.

myLot did recommend waiting at least a few days to give other people a chance to respond to your topic if they are interested so that you will have more answers to choose from and possibly better ones than if you choose a best response right away. You are doing the right thing and am sure when you do decide who has the best response, they will be happy and appreciate it very much.

I would like to be able to rate the responses on a scale of 1-10. 10 being the best. Often times I have found more than one response to be worthy of "best" rating. This should also be the same of our discussions. Members should be able to rate the discussion on the same scale.
