are we just talking official religions here, or do ones that you make up in woodwork with your Stormy friends count? If so: Framargos. And taking off our hoodies is against our religion. Take that Mrs. Kennedy.

Christianity (33% of world population), Islam (20%), Hinduism (13%), Chinese folk religion (6%) or Buddhism (5%). These spiritual traditions may be either combined into larger super-groups, or into smaller sub-denominations. Christianity, Islam and Judaism (and sometimes the Bahá'í Faith) are summarized as Abrahamic religions. Hinduism, Buddhism, Sikhism and Jainism are classified as Dharmic religions (or Indian religions). Chinese folk religion, Confucianism, Taoism and Shinto are classified as Far Eastern religions (or East Asian, Chinese or Taoic religions). Conversely, the major spiritual traditions may be parsed into denominations: * Christianity into Catholicism, Eastern Orthodoxy, Protestantism, Oriental Orthodoxy and Nestorianism (see Christian denominations) * Islam into Sunnism, Shi'ism, Sufism and Kharijites (see divisions of Islam) * Hinduism into Shaivism, Vaishnavism, Shaktism, Smartha and others (see Hindu denominations) * Buddhism into Theravada, Mahayana and Vajrayana (see Schools of Buddhism). About 4% of world population follow indigenous tribal religions. About 12% of world population are irreligious. For a more comprehensive list of religions and an outline of some of their basic relationships, please see the website I have provided, with a more extensive article at the bottom. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Religions

Oh God: Scientology, Islam, Samaritanism, Neo-Paganism, Satanism, Sikhism, Shinto, Taoism, Jainism, Judaism, Zoroastrianism, Atenism, Discordianism, Rastafarianism, Pastafarianism (:D) and we could go on for hours with the serious, and the not so. In addition to all the mainstream religions (Christianity, Islam, etc.), there are parody or mock religions, religions by region, religions branching from popular culture (ex. Jedi), religions as sub-sects of other major religions, new religious movements branching out of existing movements, religions based around inspiring substances (ex. Peyotism), cults, Supremacist religions, spiritual movements and practices that may as well be religions (ex. occultism), Systems claiming not to be religions but which have characteristics of religion (ex. Fellowship of Reason), so it would take forever. People are endlessly creating religions to suit their belief systems.

First, lets define the word eligion, according to dictionary.com: a set of beliefs concerning the cause, nature, and purpose of the universe, esp. when considered as the creation of a superhuman agency or agencies, usually involving devotional and ritual observances, and often containing a moral code governing the conduct of human affairs. Hmnn...sounds a lot like science. or martial law. Please read the following serious (snort) instruction on creating a religion: http://www.apath.org/creating_religion.html
