1099 Question, How much do I have to make before I claim?

Does anyone know here how much money I would have to make on a 1099 before I had to claim them on my US tax return? I also have a full time job as well. Some people tell me I can make up to $6,000 a year and not have to claim anything, and other people have said I should claim it all. Does anyone have a link to a website I can look at to find out for sure, or have any tax advice for filing with a 1099?? Thanks!

If you have a 1099, you need to put it on your tax return. A copy of that 1099 was sent to the IRS, so they will be looking for it when you submit your return. You can go to http://www.irs.gov for any tax information you may want to research. Let me know if you have questions....I have been a tax preparer for 13 years.
