Has anyone else had problems with used car warranties?

So I bought a saturn with a 2 thousand dollar warranty now the car was only worth 5 thousand at the time and has dropped to 2,500 after a year of owning it. 6 months after owning it the steering column dropped and we tried to use the warranty the term used by the mechanic was screw instead of bolt and our claim was denied. It was an 800.00 dollar repair. We tried to cancel the policy to get a refund Saturn filled out all the paper work and said 2 to 3 weeks. Which turned to 4 to 6 wks the 12 to 14, sometime during 4 to 6 I faxed to the warranty company my section of the claim the told me I was over my mileage. After lots of arguing the agreed to refund my claim but said they could not tell me the amount Saturn would call and give me the total and once they did I was to call they warranty company back immedeatly. The total refund was 206.00 dollars. I called back the warranty company who said Saturn was spose to refund me much more than that but still could not tell me the amount. After everything the total refund was 727.56. Now how is it that Saturn is cut a check and does not hand over the full amount to the customer?
