Have you ever feel so right for a person when the situation is not so right?

I'm still single but I found the man that I want to spend my life with. But we can't be together. We're schoolmates but never got a chance to be friends, after 6 yrs our roads crossed again. This time we become friends but the problem is he got 2 children but not married to the mom of his kids they are living together because both of their parents want them too. He keeps on saying that he wants to live her but doesn't know how to do it... He told me that he loves me but I never responded to him... Because I don't have the heart to hurt his children. But I know he knows that I feel the same. After he told me that, I never speak to him because I'm scared that if I continue to talk to him and see him, I can't hold back my feeling for him. Am I stupid for not telling him that I love him when I got a chance? Have you ever feel so right for a person when the situation is not so right? Have you feel that if that person didn't made a mistake in the past he/she was really ment for you?
