Secound World War

My Mum was one of seven children, and her brother was in the British Air Force during World War 2. I can't tell you much about his history or how things happened during the war because I wasn't born until afterwards, and my Mum didn't talk about it too much, save to say that her brother was lost in the war. She has several photographs of him, but I never knew him. :-( All I know is that the Ministry of Defence advised my grandparents that my uncle was "Missing, believed to have been shot down in action." It must have been a nightmare to have family fighting in that war, or indeed any other. Even worse, if they just disappear and there is no body. My grandparents just had to accept what they were told. I often get the strange feeling that he could still be somewhere on this earth... the uncle I never had the priveledge to know.
