The end of the earth!! how do you think it will end?

Ok this is a simple question, for me i gotta go with the johava's witnesses, my gran & grandad (who are johava's witnesses) have told me alot in the past 2 years about gods plans and how the world got messed up, The reason i think that the world will end the way the bible says is because, the bible also said about other things that have became true (i,e Four horsemen of the apocalypse) they are conquest, war, famine & death, i really dont think i need to explain y they are true... do i, but everything just makes sense in the bible. but anyway how do you think the world will end!!

The end times are a very important subject in the Bible. They are addressed in many of the Old Testament prophetic books (Isaiah through Malachi). In the New Testament, the primary passages on the end times are Matthew 24:4-44, Mark 13:5-33, Luke 17:20-37, Luke 21:8-36, 1Thessalonians 4:14-5:3, 2Thessalonians 1:6-2:12, 2Peter 3:3-12, and the Revelation. A summary of Jesus' words in Matthew 24 shows that the end times will involve the following: wars and rumors of wars nation rising against nation, and kingdom against kingdom famines and earthquakes false prophets coming in Jesus' name many people being deceived by false prophets false prophets performing signs and wonders persecution of true believers people's love of God decreasing the gospel preached in the whole world the "abomination of desolation" (a world leader who makes himself out to be God) great tribulation alterations in the sun, moon, stars Jesus' true followers gathered to Him Jesus' return Jesus' judgment of people on earth Regarding the "rapture," the event where Christ's true followers are caught up to meet him in the air, some main texts for that are: Matthew 24:31, Mark 13:27, 1Corinthians 15:51-52, 1Thessalonians 4:16-17, and 2Thessalonians 2:1-4. Also, it should be pointed out how the last days will be characterized. We are told: "There will be terrible times in the last days. People will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boastful, proud, abusive, disobedient to their parents, ungrateful, unholy, without love, unforgiving, slanderous, without self-control, brutal, not lovers of the good, treacherous, rash, conceited, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God." (2Timothy 3:1-4) The end times basically hinge on the return of Jesus Christ and His judgment of humanity and the world. Therefore, actually knowing him is the most important thing to understand about the end times. If you would like to learn more on this subject, see Knowing God Personally or begin your investigation by reading the Bible section called "John".

I'm liking your response, it's got plenty in it without going into too much interpretation of the scriptures as they were given. Glad you didn't start introducing Space Shuttles and submarines here like certain other posts..

Big Bang is not just a theory. This years nobel prize has been given to two scientists for their proof that supports bigbang theory. For more information you can log on to www.nobelprize.org

yeh but a "theory" is what they think might have happened its no proven or else it would be scientific fact.. besides they give that thing out to anyone nowadays!!

I assume you mean the end of the world (?). The earth alone cannot end. With scientific discoveries of endless skies and numerous solar systems encompassing the entire universe, it hardly matters if the earth ends. As a matter of fact, earth could end in a number of ways viz. a nuclear war in which all of humankind could perish if not in entirety, but surely gradually extinguishing all form of life, an extraordinary explosion on the crust of the sun that could affect the entire solar system and orbits of heavenly bodies causing planet or planets shifting from their original orbits and creating disastrous impact through gas etc. We cannot also write off an explosion from the interior of the earth that could split the planet causing variation in the orbit or crashing against other planets etc etc. Whatever that be, Christians have the real truth already written in the Bible. What remains to be seen is which of the deadly forecasts could occur and to what extent. We cannot also discount the possibility of involvement of the evil spirit (satan) roaming the world for its prey from time immemorial and making every effort to work out a possible mode of annihilating the mankind and the world with the tacit support of humans who have already walked out on God and working in collusion with the Devils to wreck the great masterplan of the Almighty God. Everything depends on the mercy of god and of course, our prayers to save us all from a perilous end.

Of course there are theoretical ways in which the world can end, but I think there's a spiritual imperative here..if we can believe in a creative force, will this ceative force allow man to destroy the earth, or will he step in to stop us or end it himself in his own good time?

I think that the world (as in our planet) will cease to exist when our Sun supernovas in a few billion years. Now if our species will last that long is an entirely different question in my mind and the way things are going I really don't know. We certainly will have evolved into something different. Cheers!

Well honestly, i go with the scientifical explanation.that the world will end because the sun is growing larger every year and will slowly burn our ozone layer and the rest of the planet.this wont happen for a long time though.(huh, luckily for me!)

I don't think we need to wait that long.

The end of the world will not be anything religious, it will be by the destructive civilization we have. We do not need god's intervention in reaching the end, we are doing it fairly well in moving towards that direction. Nuclear bombs, ozone depletion, rising water levels, spreading desert, increase in crimes, war etc. I don't think we need any divine intervention in this matter, we are managing ourself really well.

The world will end when the sun has consumed his fuel and becomes a red star and consumes earth (or at least expand so much that makes earth a little more than an very hot planet where life cannot exist). A few billion years (4 or 5) in the future. I don't belief in the bible idea of the end of the world.

Is this the same "blueman" that said only Whites are Christians? If you read and/or believe in Revelation, you'll see about all the "signs" that are already coming to be as to what is supposed to happen before the "End". For example, wars in the Middle East, or howabout global warming. Just food for thought.

Amongst all the religions of the world, only the Bible is depicting what will happen in the future especially with regards to the end of the world. It will be preceeded with signs of famine, wars, rumors of wars, earthquakes in many different places, natural calamities. Then, the Bible says the end will come. This is what we are witnessing today. There is an article I read somewhere, Times magazine, I think it was That a study was made about the frequency of earthquakes appearances and the result was there were lesser earthquakes before compared to today. There were at least ten a year. Then increases as years pass and today, they say that are more than 20 earthquakes every second of the day but some are very low in intensity. I don't remember the exact details and figures, but the meaning is something to this effect.

I am not a religious person and don't know much of what you said, but I think we will end ourselves...at the rate we are going I think if there is an "apocalypse" it will probably be 300 nuclear weapons exchanging continents etc. We are really ripping this planet to shreds and we are already looking for another one.
12 Jan 07
The 4 apocalypse is already working its way round the face of the earth eventually its gonna hit your country and every country, continent etc will become another africa, i.e poor, disease struck, politicly unstable!!

With all due respect...Revelation is a symbol book.I think, there would be no horsemen, scorpions and no woman sitting on a seven hills. No beast would come from the sea and the image of the false prophet would not tak in the middle of N.Y. These are the symbols given to us as a warning what is to happen. That's we cannot change. First humans will lose their souls. In modern day not Jesus, but different Baals are worshiped. Look at the people: they do believe in astrology, feng shui, they do prefer meditations than prayer. They believe in power - both financial and military. Then...then it may be war with all weapons of mass destruction used. And remaining part of humankind may hide in the rocks starving... By the way - no one would tell you when it's gonna be and how. It's God's secret...

WELL, I THINK IT IS REALLY DIFFICULT TO PROJECT HOW IT WILL BE END. ANY WAY ACCORDING TO THE BIBLE IT WILL BE AN UPSET MOMENT FOR HUMANITY.THE HELL OR PARADISE, THE WORLD WILL BE UPSET.

well,as fr as i blieve, evrythng has a Definite Beggining & a Definite End.Our earth is no different.though even scientifically its proved that it had a start n will meet an end millions of years after as sun would expand after its contraction of core & expansion of crust whch wud engulf all the inner planets including mother earth! Hope humans are not existing as their end wud be then catastrophic...
