Women don't need make-up

I hardly ever wear make-up because I feel women shouldn't have to. It seems that women seem to age faster in the face. You know why? because make-up deteriorates your face slowly. ZI put foundation on for the first time and when I took it off my face had completely broken out! My mom said its because that's what happens the first time you use foundation. That's not natural to me. I feel women shouldn't have to wear make-up at all. men don't and they still manage to look presentable. Good skin care is the key.

I agree with you. I think that a good lotion is all a woman needs to keep her skin nice and presentable.

What a relief to hear that from a woman! Two of the most genuinely beautiful women I've ever known never wear the stuff at all, and they make most supermodels look like cornflakes. Being a guy, the tendency to think that women are really sold on all that junk. Some of it shouldn't be called makeup, but defamation. I see so many otherwise attractive women, submerged in blush, and other cartoon colorings, that it's horrifying. Good post.

Ha ha ha, that's really funny. But I think the nature of some women's jobs will not permit them to go on without wearing make up. Personally, I only wear a lipstick and I don not use foundations and those other stuff because I've got sensitive skin which reacts to them.

make up kit - a make up kit consisting of everything a woman needs to color her face.

i don't wear make up either. not because that i don't want to. but it takes too much time applying them plus i am not good in mixing colors for my skin. and i have learned that it will later on make our skins get old fast. well, maybe it depends on a person's skin sensitivity. it differs from person to person. what i only put on is a powder and i use lipgloss. my boyfriend loves me for being this simple.

You two are both so right. I also firmly believe that a woman is beautiful without it and she shouldnt use it for self confidence liek alot of woman do. The most i ever use is mascara and lip gloss!!

Well I use make up, but my skin is just fine when I put it on. It's different for other people. I normally don't wear make up unless I'm going to work or going out to a party with my boyfriend or something. But I'm not the type to just put it on if I'm not going somewhere.

See, that's the kind of thing I do -- I only wear it when I'm going to school or when I'm going out to a party -- I don't think it ruins my skin, or makes me look any older -- unless I need to!

The biggest part of the problem is that all of these huge cosmetics companies play on the fears of women, making them feel they won't be as attractive as they should be or will look plain. I have worn makeup for years but I've always had very good skin. I've always had jobs where it would be somewhat unacceptable not to. But, I don't like wearing it and I agree that it will age you more than if you don't wear it.

Oh wow, you've got me worried about using makeup *laugh* I'm 31 and have only worn makeup a couple of times in my life, maybe three times at the most. I am planning to start testing it out soon just because I am personaly at the point in my life where I really feel the need to try new things and try to improve my appearance as much as possible. I am worried now about breaking out from using foundation, though, lol, as I'm already really extra sensitive to certain chemicals. However, I had friends put makeup on me a few times before in my life (the 2-3 times i was talking about above) and I don't remember breaking out or having any complications from it, so perhaps I will be okay. I do agree with you that women don't and shouldnt' feel that they _need_ makeup, though. It's true. I'm 31 and never really used it myself. But I really do want to at least try! ^_^

I also don't use any make up. It's very superficial. What kind of a person judges someone based on the appearance? I have only put make up during very important occasions such as my graduation and 18th birthday but that's it.

Wearing make-up is a person preference. Yes, it can clog poors and aid in the rapid presentation of age lines. I do wear make-up and sometimes I don't. I wear it for me when I want to feel extra pretty. My husband loves me with or without makeup.

I personally don't wear makeup because I believe it is too much of a hassel. I think the natural look is the best way to go. Sometimes I'll wear a little bit of eyeshadow and lipstick, but no foundation. I don't see the point in makeup at all. I think everyone should stop using make-up, but that's just me.

make up - There are few potential dangers regarding the use of cosmetics. One such danger is the use of old mascara. Some mascaras contain an ingredient that breaks down to produce formaldehyde. The formaldehyde prevents the growth of bacteria. Aged mascara, however, may no longer be producing formaldehyde, allowing bacteria to proliferate. For this reason, it is often recommended to replace a tube of mascara every few months
i really don't put up some heavy make up lately (but i use to). most of the common mistake that girls do thats why their skin becomes irritated is because they do not clean their sponges daily, the do not moisturize, scrub, and use a makeup remover. i was once like this however i learned the virtue of taking care the skin from a cousin who is a model. we really have to take into consideration that since we wear makeup we really have to be patient with the rituals.

well..im not contradicting your views about make-ups, but i think you have to know first your skin type in applying anything on your face..Skins are not all the same..it varies in different types. Some make ups have ingredients that can be good or harsh to your skin, but for me..being a career woman..i always put light make up on my face before going to my workplace..I know being look natural is good, but enhancing your look gives more plus on your personality..Maybe you have to read more magazine about skin cares and the best way is to know your skin type and what brand is suitable to you..

Me too. I put on just a little. It's probably all wiped off by evening. I have tried a lot of kinds of makeup and found that just a light powder works for me. It makes my skin less shiny and I like the way it feels on my skin. When my skin is dry, and I put on some powder, it feels softer and less dry... at the same time if my skin is oily, the powder seems to suck up the oil and I feel better :) To each his own though! I don't put on a lot, but I feel cleaner when I put on something... even if it all disappears by the time I leave work!

I am a man so i don't use those products but i wan to express my opinnion. I like a girl that doesn't ware make-up, i mostly detest lipstick. Natural beauty is the best. Think about it ladies. And besides it is a proven fact that if you use too muck make-up it destroyes your natural beauty and then you need make-up just to look like a human beeing, take a look at Michael Jackson. You could say that make-up is addictive :o

I am glad that this is the way you also feel a woman doesn't look right when she is all painted and you don't even really know what she looks like underneath!

I think make up is not the thing you r thinking .... its not about applying heavy layers of foundation only!!! I feel make up is feeling good about yourself, if you r not beautiful enough then u need to make up yourself as if u can look good and feel good... make up has a vast and deep meaning in it. It boosts ur self confidence.

Okay. I can understand where you are coming from, but why rely on something so artificial? Find confidence from within.

I personally like wearing foundation -- I do it because I like it, not because I have the need to impress anyone, or anything, I just like wearing it -- and that's my perogative, right? So there you go, then!

I totally agree with you. When I first tried to wear make it I seem to have an allergic reaction. My eyes kept watering so I took it off and never used it again. It also does age your face when you use makeup all the time. I also agree with that.
